It’s that time to make your New Year Resolutions and the number one new year resolution is “How to Diet and Lose Weight”.
I’ve been there and I know how it feels to realize, ” I gotta do something to make this new year better than last year. I’m gonna go on a diet and get back in shape! I’m gonna make my self better than last year!”
Well let me be the first to say, ” YOU CAN DO IT!”
Now is the perfect time to commit and go on a diet to lose weight. You can just ease into it. You will gain momentum as each week passes
and by summertime (or sooner) you can look like a million bucks!
All it takes is one small step at a time. One day at a time, then a week passes and you realize it’s not that bad once you get started.
Then more weeks pass and you’re getting excited because you start to SEE RESULTS!
BIG RESULTS!
Before you know it,
your clothes fit more and more loose and then you can reward yourself with some brand new clothes that fit perfect and you can show off your new beautiful look!
So how do you get started?
First thing to do is to cut out the bad stuff! Back off on the fast foods! It doesn’t have to be too painful if you just ease off little by little. For example, if you eat fast food 3 or 4 times a week, just cut out one day…just one day!
Then, the next week you can cut out another day of fast food. If you were eating fast food four days a week, you’ve already improved by a whopping 50%!
Do you see how easy it is to improve?
Next, let’s start implementing good healthy foods.
The best foods? All fresh fruits and vegetables qualify as well as lean meats like skinless chicken, fish and lean cuts of red meat (but go sparingly on the red meat). The Leanest cuts of red meat include top sirloin, round steak and at least 80% lean ground beef.

It really is so easy on paper yet it so hard in real life, mainly because the bad foods are conveniently available and cheap. I completely agree on how easy it is to have a support system, if someone like say your spouse isn’t on board or supportive it makes it so much harder to succeed.
I like your article because its not a specific diet its just a common sense way to eat.
What is your opinion on the Keto Diet?
Thank you for your comments Cheyanne! You are a keen observer about how easy it is to eat “bad foods” and how important support is. Visit another article I wrote which includes a support source you may be interested in

As far as the Keto Diet, the idea here is to cut back on carbs to the point that your body starts using your body fat as it’s energy source. It takes sustained effort because your body is used to getting it’s energy from carbs and when you cut back on carbs, you lack energy (and may feel drained) until your body reaches that point of Ketosis where it stops looking for carbs for energy and starts using your body fat for energy. It would be easier to use a transitional diet away from carbs but I like to still include good carbs like vegetables to help sustain energy. Good luck!
Thank you for this great word of advice and technique that you have provided. Mostly, people believe it is major problem to diet or lose weight but any one who comes across this article will be relieved.
health is wealth as they say and I loved the way you outlined your method including all the recommend products you offered on your page, I most confess, this is a great job. Thanks
Thank you Olatoye for the nice and supportive comments. You’re right that people seem to think of losing weight as a difficult challenge but just getting started is very important. It takes time and patience but it CAN BE DONE!
In fact, time is on everyone’s side because the longer you eat healthy and exercise, the more it becomes a lifestyle instead of a temporary effort. Soon, it doesn’t seem so hard because we get used to it and our bodies want more.
Good luck you you my friend.
I can’t stop eating fast food! I love it because it is so fast ironically and I hate cooking. Right I technically don’t own a kitchen so that makes eating healthier a lot harder. I eat whole foods instead. Is that a good substitute you think?
I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables though, well when I can so I guess that’s a lot. Not to mention how expensive food is in general. What are some ways to combat America’s poor eating habits that we can’t just help indulging in?
Hi Kira,
Thank you so much for your comments. I very much appreciate it!
We all love fast foods and it’s okay to have some once in a while, but if you eat fast foods everyday, just try to cut back by one day each week. Substituting wholesome foods is a very good idea. As you eat more and more wholesome, healthy foods and at the same time, little by little cut back on the fast foods, you will notice you have more energy and you will begin to feel better and better about your health, your body and yourself overall.
It’s like I say to myself, “love your body and your body will love you back!”
I being fit and flexible is one thing that I would love to accomplish this year being able to shed the excess fat and being to eat healthier food and most of making sure I don’t forget that I have to fit for awhole year not afew months then I forget.that would be counter productive to that comes with being fit and living a healthier life

Pretty soon it becomes a way of life for us and next thing you know, you’ve stayed fit and healthy for so long that you don’t remember when you were less fit.
